Imagine your worst nightmares unfolding in front of your eyes.
Imagine being the person to blame.
Marco and Anne are parents to a six month old baby. One night, they’re invited to the neighbour’s dinner party but are asked not to bring their daughter along, after all, she will just cry and ruin the evening. Marco and Anne agree and leave baby Cora alone in the house, they’re only next door and not only do they take the baby monitor with them, they also check on her every half an hour. They return home, the house is quiet, the front door is open and Cora is gone…
Tell me you didn’t just get goosebumps!
This story is fast paced, but it’s thorough. It’s between point of views, without switching between characters. You experience every emotion, every feeling and you’re completely submerged in this world as though you were watching a real life news report on the case.
I gasped out loud, I cursed, I even imitated Macaulay Culkin’s famous ‘Home Alone’ scared face a few times.
This book is fantastic, when you’re not reading it, you wish you were and when you are, you’re turning the pages so quickly, you wonder how you’re getting all of the words into your brain at that speed. But you are. And they’re good. They’re very good.
A must read, honestly fantastic. I got goosebumps.
I give this book a 4.5 out 5.
