I read this in eBook format.

I’m a sucker for a serial killer novel, in a non sadistic way, of course. When I stumbled across this book, I just had to add it to my many books on my kindle. Something about the blurb just stood out to me and it’s not often I am struck by something like that.
I was excited to read the first line and discover it was set in my hometown, a rare case as I have never seen that before.
The main character, Kim, is a difficult woman, with a lot of past troubles and heartache. She isn’t one to trust and is very much a lone wolf. But she is strong willed and determined, solid qualities for a main character.
You really do grow to love her as the story develops and your heart breaks for her as you read everything she has been through. You even worry for her, and come to think of her as your friend, more so than an imaginary character.
The book is captivating and gripping. I finished it in a day. I think that says a lot.
For me, I was frantic to get to the end. When I wasn’t reading this book, I was thinking about it and when I was reading it, I was on the edge of my seat, heart thudding and palms sweaty.
It is written in a way that you can imagine it inside your head. Every location, every character, every tiny detail. The book flowed too, you weren’t bored for a chapter, skipping parts for more gritty information, you read every single word, draining the paragraphs for more information.
It was told in third person, which was nice. It gave the story depth, exploring other character’s emotions and feelings, instead of sticking to Kim’s.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It stuck on my mind for days after reading and I was annoying everyone by talking about it constantly. To read other reviews and learn that this was a debut novel, made the read even more amazing. A stunning, heart-wrenching read that will stay with me forever.
I’ve purchased Angela’s next two novels in the series and I am so excited to give those a read too.
