I read this in book format.

I received this book from Penguin in order to review it.

This Modern Love is made up of letters. Letters about love, heartbreak, crushes. They’re written by real people. With over 15,000 submissions from nearly 100 countries, the book is full of beautiful words from the heart.

This book is just spectacular. A wonderful idea that is completely unique.

I was reminded of that scene in the Sex and the City movie, where Carrie is reading a book of famous love letters whilst she is in bed with Mr. Big. Of course, that book wasn’t actually made, it was only for the movie.image1 (1).JPG

This book is a perfect coffee table book. It’s a book that you can turn to any page and read a letter. It’s a stunning read and a lovely reminder that single or in a relationship, bitter or happy, we are not alone in this world.

It’s a book of feelings, whether they be infatuation, grief, loss or insane happiness, you connect with this faceless, and sometimes nameless, person’s thoughts.

The bold red of the cover and the black, white, grey and red theme throughout is lovely too.

I like that in this book, there is, honestly no such thing as a traditional love.

With letters from gay men and women as well as straight men and women, it really is ‘Modern Love.’

I’ve included a photo of one of my favourite letters from the book.

I give this a strong 4.5 out of 5.

This book is released August 11th and can be purchased here.
