I asked the lovely folks at Isle of Wight Distillery to send me a bottle of their gin to try and review and they kindly said yes and sent me not one but two samples!

I tried the wonderful Mermaid’s gin first. The name is wonderful and appeals to me because I really do believe I was a mermaid in a previous life. I even have a whole theory as to why I don’t like to eat fish but that’s another story for another time.

The Mermaid gin is lovely. The taste is unique. There is a wonderful taste of liqourice that comes through and adding tonic to make a G & T is a fantastic taste.

The HMS Victory is mind blowing, literally. With a 57% alcohol volume, the taste is strong and fabulous.

I give both a strong 4 out of 5 stars.
